Storm Watch 2010 (part 2)

Postby GoBigRed » Fri Oct 29, 2010 8:25 pm

Friday, 8:20 pm -- It's supposed to rain Saturday morning. Less than a 50% chance. Showers, not a downpour. Unfortunately, we are playing at San Diego High School, where "drainage" is an unfamiliar word and they tend to close the field at the first sight of a cloud. So, with the possibility of a few drops hitting the ground, we will follow the example of our local television news departments as we bring you ... (drum roll) ... STORM WATCH 2010!

There is not a cloud in the sky now, there is not a green blob visible on the weather radar. But if one comes along overnight, you'll be the first to know with .. (drum roll and ominous synthesizer music) .. STORM WATCH 2010! right here on sdscrubs.com Eyewitness/Action Central/Always First When Seconds Count/If It Bleeds It Leads News!

Oh, the humanity!

Friday, 8:33 pm -- Nguyen Nguyen ("my name's so nice you say it twice"), head groundskeeper at San Diego High School, told sdscrubs.com Eyewitness/Action Central/Always First When Seconds Count/If It Bleeds It Leads News Friday night that things were under control, but were not expected to stay that way. "Field dry and OK now," said Nguyen. "But when rain come tomorrow, field muddy, no baseball." Asked how much rain was expected, Nguyen said, "Not matter. Nguyen not go out in rain to even open field gates. Fuck you."

Friday, 8:50 om -- Elmer Czdkjvzik, chief forcaster at the San Diego National Weather Service office in Rancho Bernardo and a former resident of Chicago's West Side (accounting for his surname), told the sdscrubs.com Eyewitness/Action Central/Always First When Seconds Count/If It Bleeds It Leads .. (drum roll and scary synthesizer music) .. STORM WATCH 2010! Team late Friday that the showers predicted for Saturday morning will be light and may not materialize at all. However, Czdkjvzik warned, "there are some assholes around this town that will use any possible excuse to cancel an event." Pressed for more specifics, Czdkjvzik cited "some guy named Nguyen downtown who goes absolutely nuts at the first raindrop. We've known about him for years but evidently he hasn't got caught banging a 12 year old yet so he's still running around loose."

Friday, 9:16 pm -- Faced with the possibility of a rainout of the 4.0 Deli Scrubs baseball game scheduled for Saturday morning at San Diego High School, SDABL president Mike Micheli says he has made backup plans. Micheli told the sdscrubs.com Eyewitness/Action Central/Always First When Seconds Count/If It Bleeds It Leads .. (drum roll and scary synthesizer music) .. STORM WATCH 2010! Team late Friday evening that in the event of a closed field at SDHS, he has arranged for the game to be played at San Diego State University's Tony Gwynn Stadium. Asked if those arrangements were solid, Micheli hedged. "We have the SDSU field," he said. "But if that doesn't work out, like it didn't for our championship games, we have Grossmont College. And the Monte Vista JV field to back that up. And, if all else fails, we have Kennedy Park in El Cajon. We'll put out some throw-down bases and you're all set. We've got you covered. Trust me."

They would all get ejected because they don't understand the rules.
I love the posts Doug.
I am hearing the drum rolls and synthesizers as I am reading them. I am shocked you spelled Cjkhvinkski (sp) the same way over and over in those posts. That is a talent few of us possess...good game.

Friday, 9:45 pm -- As tension mounts throughout San Diego County and the raging tempest forecast by some for Saturday morning approaches, the sdscrubs.com Eyewitness/Action Central/Always First When Seconds Count/If It Bleeds It Leads .. (drum roll and scary synthesizer music) .. STORM WATCH 2010! Team's Special Investigative Unit has gone on alert, searching for the answers you need in the face of this impending disaster. We have dispatched a crew to the Jamul Indian Reservation, located on a 50 by 100 foot lot near Simpson's Nursery in downtown Jamul, where they have just interviewed Edward Two Wolves Fucking, one of the elders and the tribal rainmaker. According to Two Wolves Fucking, a rain dance early this week went terribly wrong when, as a prank, youngsters in the tribe replaced the ceremonial sage and creosote leaves which are burned during a rain dance with herbs provided by a northern California tribe in Humboldt County. "Rain not my fault," said the rainmaker as he gulped down a large bag of chocolate chip cookies.

The rain predicted earlier in the week doesn't look like it'll amount to anything. Forecast this morning says a few showers mid-morning. National Weather Service radar at 7:00am shows a small band of showers off the coast and moving this way, but it looks like we're good to go.

I live up the street from SD high, and it's pretty wet down here. Just to let everyone know, it's about time to call the league and get an official call on the condition.
