Scott's Confidence in his Speed

Postby Sperminator7 » Mon Jul 14, 2008 10:00 am

Ok, I'm not sure if you heard Scott's challenge to me, but it went down something like this: He bet he could outrun me around the bases, him starting at 1st and me starting at home. With some simple calculations I'm running roughly 109 meters to Scott's 82. To put some perspective on this, if we did these distances on a football field he would be starting on the 30yrd line, me on the goal line, and we race through the back of the endzone. That is quiet a head start and a lofty goal. Then I got to thinking, Scott isn't running straight, he will have to contend with turning around 2 bases which will likely kill any acceleration he has gained, and I will make up huge distance on the turns. Any thoughts?

Play the link,...my prediction is that Scott would look something like the little girl Kas, and I the boy in the red shirt.

Rules about bumping or contact?

Postby CoachShane » Thu Jul 17, 2008 8:22 am

Were are doing this on Sunday! I'm going to film it and put it on YOUTube titled Scrubs Olympics in OtayBeijing. I can pretty much tell you how the film would unravel. From the start Herman would get to the 1B Bag before Scottie could get to 2nd and Scottie would be passed before he even got to 3B. SO NO DEAL! SO NO BET. IT's not even logical or entertaining for that matter.

We need a new money line anyways...

So how about having Scotty to Hottie start just behind the 2nd basebag and Herman in the batters box (lefty side). Now were talking about a play at the plate possibility...... Daniel will pretty much be at maximum speed approaching the plate and Scotty is going to look like a Clydesdale that just got shot in the leg. This could turn out to be a phenomenal
moment. This could be a phenomenal
event.

Who would touch Home-Plate First?

Being one of the few and the proud to almost get passed on the basepaths by the Sperminator, I would not try to press this bet Scotty. Take your $100 and go to Lady Luck and lose it to an 85 year old Asian lady who thinks she is playing Bingo in that hell hole. Dan would beat you by 20-30 feet easily (if not more). It would definitely be entertaining. Scott might actually work up a sweat on the diamond. Maybe if I dangle a Marlboro in front of his face it will motivate him... whatever the case may be Scotty, win or lose, for the love of God, just do it with your shirt on. Man tits like those even make Robert Paulson (Fight Club reference, Scott) feel better about himself. Don't forget to slap my ass this Sunday Dan. I've missed it the past few weeks.

If i'm doing my math right Dan would have to be 34% faster than Scott.Plus Scott will be slowing down going to the plate while Dan would be at the same speed if not faster. It would not be a blowout, but I think Dan will pass him between 3rd and home. If I were you Scott I would not take that bet. You could do it if you started at home though!

I am calling you out Dan.....

Lets do this......Sunday.....

Here are the rules......let me know if you want to change them

Scott starts from 1st base Dan starts from Home........
Both runners have to make it around all the bases and the first person to touch home plate wins......

On each base there will be a member of the Scrubs team to make sure each base is touched......No objections ruling stands.....

At the end of the race the loser has the option to place the same bet again. This is in-case of an unforeseen slip, fall, etc.....

If the race goes into a 2nd round each runner will have a 10 min rest to drink more G2 and recuperate.

Each runner must bring $100 and place the funds in the hands of a 3rd party member......no money no race......

I would also like to throw a curve ball into this bet.....the winner will buy the loser a bright pink helmet that he must wear for an entire game during the playoffs.

Dont worry Dan I am sure you will look great in pink.....

You guys do know this is a sucker bet, don't you? Spot Scotty 25% of the distance plus one 90 degree turn/base tag and even if he ran like me ... come to think of it, he sort of does ... you can't make up 90 feet in that short a distance. Also, since it will all come down to the last leg, third to home, it's going to be very crowded when you both arrive at the plate about the same time so whoever throws an elbow first will probably win.

Oh, yeah ... do you both want to risk injury on what is reputed to be the WORST and most INJURY-PRONE field the SDABL uses?

Sucker bet, I tell ya ...
