By now you're wondering, "Where are the stats from Saturday's ass kicking of the Tigers?"
No, your scorekeeper/statistician/webmaster is not off throwing a tantrum again. But I am up to my ears in a work project with a very close deadline and I just don't have time to do the baseball stuff until that's finished up. I hope that will be Tuesday. Last night was a late night and tonight looks like an all-nighter. That's why I had to handle a few phone calls during the game on Saturday.
It's interesting work because I'm laying out the wire and cable harness designs for a local electrical contractor who is supplying pumps, motors and controls as part of a multi-million dollar emergency engineering project for Tokyo Electric Power and their effort to prevent further environmental damage due to their melting-down Fukushima nuclear plant. There are people in the South Bay working around-the-clock shifts building sub-assemblies and, among other things, manufacturing the wiring package as I finish my drawings. There are programmers tag-teaming the computer code to operate the thing. The whole project is being final-assembled in Colorado in six cargo containers and flown to Japan on the giant Russian cargo planes. That's how time-critical it seems to be.
So in a small way, I get to help save Japan. Maybe even save the world. Maybe Japan will give me a new Nissan or Toyota truck to show their gratitude. Fat chance. If we haven't all died of radiation a few months from now, you must thank me for saving you by buying me whiskey. Lots and lots of whiskey.
And I really will try to finish up your stats in the next few days.
