Playoff Weekend! (Updated 9:30 am Friday 07/25)

** HEADS UP **
SDABL fire drill regarding the start time for Scrubs quarter-final game is now "officially" resolved. Be sure to check the Scrubs web site late Saturday/early Sunday in case they change something again. I will mass e-mail any updates.

**************
We will play the Angels of East County in our quarter-final game Sunday morning at 8:30 (now confirmed by the commissioner). This game will be at the brand-new Lincoln High School. See the Field Finder on the home page for directions. Because of our seeding position (#5), we will be the visiting team in this game.

If we beat the Angels, we'll play the winner of Rats vs Tigers at Clairemont High School at 1:30 pm on Sunday.

The two semi-final winners face off at T. Gwynn Stadium on Sunday, August 3 at 7:00 pm. Unless SDABL has changed its policy, both of these teams will be required to move up one division, to 18AA.

Good luck and good baseball to us!

GO BIG SCRUBS!!

It's a simple formula to get to TG stadium,...force the other team to beat us. This concept goes beyond simply playing text book baseball, it means going beyond what is expected with 100% effort and place the pressure on the other team. That means; running out every ground/fly ball, solid D, not being to selective at the plate (swing away--the umps will take the bat out of your hand otherwise), move runners around, and hustle.

We are playing a team that we beat the first week of the season, this is a game we can win. The teams below us (in seeding) will all lose which means we will be playing the top seed in the second game, The Rats, who spanked us at the Clairemont mud game. My guess, since that is there home field we will be traveling there for game two.

My suggestion is we start Cole Train and press the pace on the Angels. See if we can get ahead early, lock down the win--pull Cole, Dom 'P' comes in for the save. Start Cole game two, have him go what he can go, and finish with Matty.
