So, today we saw another Scrubs baseball team see-through a game, never giving up the lead and turning another page with a win! Great job everyone, today was a lot of fun. But, I was thinking on my way home, having discussions about the game with my girlfriend (who I must say has near perfect attendance this year so far--I think she's falling in love with our team. You all had ME at "hello"), and we discussed some consistentcies that have really paid off.
Today we saw an unusual amount of home-runs, very important homeruns that gave us the lead and kept us in the lead. Honestly, I was blown away. Big home-runs today by Gino, Matt, Derek, and Dan that produced RBI's that were decisive in our win. Additionally, Dan made some crucial adjustments that apparently paid big time dividends. Yeah Boy!! And Derek had a monsterous day at the plate, and always shows leadership to this team that is absolutely invaluable to me and perhaps others, but most importantly, always plays ball with class that all of us should emmulate.
This post however, is not for them. What my girlfriend and I talked about were two people that have really been consitent factors to our success the last two games. In my opinion, Matty has really been red-dead with his pitching these past two games. He has methodically pitched differently to each batter, and I can't say enough about what he has done on the mound, along with the catching staff (Scott and Matt) who caught him.
The other person I have really seen, is Peter. Peter hit very well today and had some critical base-running moments in games past and present where he has really been aggressive, and I love that. Also, Peter had some big hits this year so far, supporting the team in the bottom of the line-up making it deep with strength and production. We're only as strong as our weakest link, and the bottom of the line-up is showing all strength. Even Scott is looking like the tips and tee practice from Derek have really paid off. Stay confident!
Thanks guys for another fun one!!
