Are you ready?

Postby Sperminator7 » Sat Jan 08, 2011 2:04 pm

Are you physically in shape for the up-coming season? We have about a month before our new season and we as a team need to make sure we don't come in all fucked up and out of shape. If you aren't at least lifting--start, go for some jogs/runs. Get a fellow Scrub(s) together and throw the ball, maybe swing the bat 30 times/3 days a week in the back yard. We are the oldest team in 18A, some of the kids we are playing against were born in the 90's! We are up against young, dumb and full of cum 20 somethings who are going to be faster and more athletic than us. Be ready!

I know Gdawg is lifting, congrats by the way in joining the 300+ bench club (less that 0.5% of the population can btw), we've been pounding weights, I know he's ready.

It's worse than that, some of them are TEENAGERS. Most of you were playing Pony ball (and a few of you were in high school) when the youngest of these kids were born.

I think Dan might have something here...Perhaps we can use this introduction to keep each other accountable for working out a little for the remainder of the off-season. I know because I live in North Park, which is really far away from all of you, that not a lot of you would like to drive out here to throw or hit or even run a little, but I am always open to working something out. I run almost every day and work-out in my own strength training sort of way about three times a week (I don't have a gym membership), but if anyone needs some motivation, let me know and we'll get together.

Use this post to report to your teammates that you have been working out and getting ready for the season, so we all can encourage each other.

So I'm kinda feeling bad about being fat now. Baseball has fat guys, I'm fat. I will come into the season fat, leave the season less fat. I will hit, steal, lead this team to a championship all while being fat. Mark the tape.

And I will play the role of the skinny drunk guy. Every team has one (we may lead the league). I will hit ocassionally (when the pitcher accidentally hits my bat for me) and I promise to never steal a base. I will leave that to the fat guy. I promise to show up sober on Saturdays but all bets are off any other day of the week. I will try not to boot balls at first base or lose fly balls in the sun in right field. Looking forward to this season and miss the hell out of everybody. Lets have some fun bitches!

Just to throw out a simple invitation, there's a senior league field in Mission Beach next to the the Mission Bay Golf and Tennis Club, next door to Mission Bay High School, that is open to the public during the day and weekends. There are senior league teams that practice on it sometimes, but more times than not, it's available.

So, if anyone wants to get together and have a live BP session, let me know. I've gone twice this week with a friend of mine. Likewise, Scott, if you read this, this friend I speak of just got back from Hawaii and he pitches and plays outfield, if the position is still open on our team. He can hit well also. In Hawaii, wood bats are only used, so he is pretty anxious to use the metal again.

If any of you are interested, but don't have my phone number, here it is: 619 823-1925

We do have one open spot to get to 13...

Couple of questions????

-When was the last time this guy got on the mound and actually threw strikes? "emphasis on STRIKES"
-Can he pay? $$$$$$
-Does he even want to play?
-Can he take Dan's cold shoulder for 3 seasons until Dan finally slaps his ass?
-Can he fit into an XL jersey, or will he be swimming in it?
-If a fight breaks out between him and Doug who would win?
-Does he drink, smoke and gamble?
-Does he have 3 DUI's and need someone to pick him up before each game?
-Is he GAY? I dont need another guy on the team admiring my ass
-Can he play 1st base? We dont have enough 1st baseman
-Does he get really drunk, black out in PB, and forget where he parked his car?
-Is he Black? We need a black guy on our team
-Would he be offended if Frank Rizzo pleasured his woman?
-Is his Girlfriend hot? We need some eye candy in the stands
-Would he like to sponsor our team? Word on the street is 4.0 Deli, Scrub Mart, and Derek are broke

Thats about all I need to know...

Everyone says they can pitch..."Kenny,Brent, Me, Gino, Matt, Peter, Jesse" I think Peter still owns the ERA record...

I am down for a practice so I can get the money everyone owes me....

Couple of questions for skott

When was the last time you got behind the dish and actually threw somebody out? Emphasis on throwing somebody out.
Should you even want to play?
Can you fit into an XL jersey, or will it be a tube top?
If a fight breaks out between you and Dan who would win?
Can you play 1st base coach? We need one.
Would Sally like to sponsor our team, therefore we can be the 4.0 Sally Scrubs!

Anyways B, you know if he's good. Let us know you're opinon. I think the real question is will he throw parties at his place????
Yes I agree we should have a practice to work on a few things and also so we can pay Skott. Skott I hope you've been hitting over the break! I'm looking forward to seeing you with your 1st .300+ season.
In closing, I miss you guys like I miss my hemorrhoid. Ha!!

He probably can play. Brandon is a vet on this team and has as much credibility and common sense not to bring out some busher. Besides, a little fresh blood could be a good thing.

I think the real question is will he throw parties at his place????

Ha, I love it! I think Scotty should let us come over and get drunk at his house more often. Fuck your floors asshole! You yuppy wanna-be piece of shit with your $7/ft wood!

Don't worry B, we all know you could do this in 5 minutes during your morning shit.

4th of July, now we're talking. We'll all be sure to stock up on cheap, volatile, mexican explosives to bring over and let off in your living room...

Well, Scott, you asked some pretty sarcastic questions, so I will oblige you: He is a heterosexual black man, that does not have a job since his arrival back to the mainland. He is a better hitter than a fielder (a free swinger--opposite of me, me can't let balls go by him. He'd rather hit than walk), and a decent pitcher. He is nothing special but a fundamental ball player. I told him he needs to get a job and pay his way on the team. He's been back only two weeks, and hasn't got a job yet. I've always been hesitant about recruiting him because he has a problem with authority (he's been banned from our league in '02 from throwing a bat at an umpire, but has grown up a bit in Hawaii I think. He would have been another good bat in our order and added speed in rightfield, but I don't think he'll get a job in time to pay his way. He's a good guy, but has some edge. He may not have even fit well with our team chemistry, but it's worth a try.

So I guess what you are telling me is...."he does not have the $160 to pay, and you dont want to float him the cash"

Is the roster spot still open then?
